There are very few times as a designer where our clients really kick back and let us run the show. There’s typically some push back or the budget is too flexible and then too rigid. One partner leans one way. The other partner, the other way. In this case, there were no such issues.

Our clients came to us with a goal: Renovate the bathroom within their budget. “Make it beautiful but we trust you” Is what they told us… This is exactly what designer dreams are made of. They gave us a slight budgeting swing to allow for some possible increases. But all in all we kept them right in line with their original quote.

Every decision was deliberated on quickly and efficiently. After that it was simple execution of the design.

The original bathroom was quite the eyesore. The built in, drop in tub was a dust collector.

The shower felt confined and Andy and Melissa wanted more of a cozy but luxurious feeling in their bathroom.

First, we wanted to eliminate the tub. That was simple, but what to do with the space qas a litttle more tricky. We wanted to make sure the space was put to use but without the increased price tag pf additional cabinetry costs.

Our solution was to buy a furniture piece for the corner as well as open shelving by the shower

This allowed for easy towel and book storage at the tub while creating visual appeal with decor.

The floating shelves were purchased from a local lumber yard as raw material. This stain was created by mixing both phantom gray and special walnut by minwax (available at your local hardware store).

The brackets were purchased from Home Depot.

TILE

The tile was provided by Daltile. Both for the lower shower walls and flooring. The marble collection being from the Famed Line.

The upper walls were Daltile provided by Home Depot.

CABINETRY

This cabinetry was supplied by Laslo Custom Kitchens. We chose to opt for a semi custom line from fabuwood. The slim shaker profile added a luxurious feeling to an otherwise standard shaker selection.

WALLPAPER

What really stole the show was the cork wallpaper in the water closet. Although we wanted to maintain our budget as much as possible, this was one area we did splurge.

The selection is Burlwood by York Wall Coverings
