A Formal Way to Start Your Day

Butlers pantry blog post

This butlers pantry was one room in a major remodel that Sereine Design was apart of. The whole home was riddled with challenges. The floor plan and layout all through had been completely upheaved to achieve what is now what our clients call home. Interior design is not only about making a space look beautiful, it is also about making the space work stylistically and functionally for your client.

The original style of this particular home was also nothing short of the polar opposite of what my clients wanted for their own home. The house had major Tuscan themes and extravagant lighting all throughout. Whereas our clients opted for high style, yes, but more muted style with careful impact. It was evident that the clients needed to remodel from the start but this renovation turned out to be way more involved than originally anticipated.

This home was completely gutted to the studs. This is a picture of where it was when we started on the process of remodeling/designing

Modern chic could describe my clients and we were once again looking at a Tuscan home. With all of that being said, we had our work cut out for us.

We were brought on to this remodel about half way through the design phase. Construction had already started and a lot of vendors were already visited with preliminary drawings.

Typically when we start with clients we like to plan out all items and have things finalized before any construction is started on site. Here we were working somewhat backwards, but our clients were great as we navigated the process and set a new course. Working with the items and floor plans we had already provided was a challenge but one that provided to be successful. Our clients stayed patient and were open to, at times, daring suggestions. The result was a masterpiece.

Every item in this pantry was carefully selected but here are some of the details we  love the most.

THE DESIGN DETAILS WE LOVE

  • Glass in the upper cabinets

  • The Cambria countertop

  • The fun shaped honey bronze pulls

  • The semi flush light fixture with crystal details

Countertops - we went with Cambria in the color Summerhill.

As you can see it’s both stunning and stately. This color works well in a chic home or in other transitional and traditional themes. To really drive the look home we finished the edge profile with an ogee edge.

Knobs - the knobs were selected through Top Knobs the color pictured is Honey Bronze

The Backsplash - this is a custom product but you can find similar options through Daltile to the trade. Find your local showroom!

The Cabinet Color - Benjamin Moore Shaker Gray. A gorgeous blue gray that practically goes with everything.

The Sink - Blanco Silgranit sink in the color Metallic Gray.

I love these sinks and highly recommend them. Not only are they great to maintain but this little bit of color really adds SO MUCH to the space. If the colors/ sizes work well in your design, they are worth every penny.

It’s difficult to say what we love the most about this Butlers Pantry. Every item really does just work so perfectly as a whole. I hope you enjoyed a little bit of this behind the scenes in pictures and hope you’ll follow along on our Instagram as well.
